Melbourne Youth Music is non-profit Organisation dedicated to the development of Victoria's young musicians through the Saturday Music and Summer School Programs.

For 40 years MYM has given talented young musicians the chance to learn music with other like-minded young people from all over the state in a unique environment.

Melbourne Youth Music's Saturday Music Program caters for students aged from 7 to 23 years. We offer a variety of ensembles including orchestras, symphonic bands, string ensembles, big bands and choirs that cater for students in their formative years through to advanced levels.

The Saturday Music Program ensemble rehearsals incorporate full group rehearsals and tutorials by specialist teachers to assist with technical and musical skill development. The Saturday Music Program also gives students the opportunity to perform throughout the year at venues including BMW Edge, IWAKI Auditorium and quality suburban venues with the annual Saturday Music Concert held at The Melbourne Town Hall.

Our Summer School Program also gives young musicians the opportunity to play and perform in a variety of ensembles with a similar rehearsal structure to the Saturday Music Program. The Summer School Program also offers over 70 workshops and classes including studio recording, VCE theory, composition, jazz rhythm section and voice for upper & lower Primary.

VoxSynergy Wows the Judges

Melbourne Youth Music’s top vocal group – VoxSynergy – directed by Kathryn Sadler has been wowing the judges of Channel 7’s BATTLE of THE CHOIRS. The show screens on channel 7 @ 7.30 pm on Sunday evenings & already, VoxSynergy has been successful in the heats & the quarter finals. Next step is the semi final so tune in on Sunday 27th July to see if they make it through to the grand final.
