Melbourne Youth Music announces the establishment of the Melbourne Youth Jazz Orchestra. Ross Irwin will be the driving force behind this new project in Melbourne Youth Music’s 2010 Program and we are thrilled to have Ross committing his energy, vision and talent to this exciting project.

The ensemble will undertake several high-profile projects; headlining the 2010 Bands Festival at BMW Edge as well as other performances in clubs and venues across Melbourne. The ensemble will be lead by Ross and other Guest Directors on some of the most challenging repertoire in the genre, such as Duke Ellington’s Far East Suite and original works by the Thad Jones / Mel Lewis Orchestra.
