The Melbourne Youth Orchestra exists to promote the artistic, personal
and professional development of highly gifted young instrumentalists
to the highest professional standards. By offering a program of elite
performance and educational activities, the Melbourne Youth Orchestra
helps participants develop the full complement of skills required of
the best ensemble musicians today.

Under the direction of Fabian Russell, the orchestra performs the best of both traditional and contemporary repertoire, and regularly collaborates with leading guest conductors, esteemed Australian soloists and the finest tutors from Melbourne’s professional orchestras.

We are thrilled to announce that four of Australia’s most outstanding and accomplished soloists will perform with our orchestra in 2010. We welcome pianist Michael Kieran Harvey, Australian Chamber Orchestra Principal Viola Christopher Moore, violinist Kristian Winther and trumpet virtuoso Tristram Williams.

2010 Performances
The Melbourne Youth Orchestra 2010 performance season begins with a special performance at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on February 27 at 5pm, as a guest of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, preceding the MSO’s own Sidney Myer Free Concert.
