It is an ensemble created to offer intermediate string players the rare opportunity to explore the rich and exciting range of string orchestra repertoire.

Promoting successful interaction with other musicians of similar experience and ability, members of MYS focus on ensemble skills that enhance each player’s overall musical development in readiness to join a full orchestra.

MYS has regular tutorials throughout each term with leading educators and practitioners, exploring repertoire and developing ensemble and sectional cohesion. Young players will be instilled with enthusiasm for performance and can demonstrate their achievements on a regular basis through family-oriented performances at the end of each term.
