With one of Australia’s foremost music educators, Richard Gill, as the inaugural Artistic Director of the 2011 MYM Summer School, it’s shaping up to be the most exciting program yet!

The 2011 MYM Summer School offers a range of ensemble and specialist programs including Orchestras, Concert Bands, Music Theatre & Stage Bands, String Ensembles and a Young Conductors and Arts Administrators Program. It’s a great meeting place for young musicmakers and no matter what your level of musical skill, there is an ensemble to suit and a program that will encourage and inspire.

The program begins on Sunday 16 January and concludes with an Open Workshop hosted by Richard Gill at the Melbourne Town Hall on Saturday 22 January. A Showcase Performance by the Music Theatre and Stage Band ensembles is scheduled for Friday evening 21 January at BMW Edge, Federation Square.

Each ensemble will undertake an intensive rehearsal program guided by esteemed conductors, tutors and educators. Applications are now open online for what will be a fantastic start to 2011.
