In 2012 MYM is holding its inaugural Youth String Camp over two days and one night in the September school holidays at the Mt Morton Camp and Conference Centre at the foot of Mt Dandenong.
The camp and repertoire is designed for students approximately AMEB Grade 2 – 4 and will be led by MYM Conductors Kieran and Tania Casey. In addition to rehearsal and tutorial sessions, camp participants will take part in a number of recreational activities designed to build confidence, improve teamwork and communication skills and allow participants to experience the fun of being a member of a large ensemble.
The Youth String Camp is a separate event to regular Ensemble Program rehearsals and carries a project fee of $195. This fee includes all transport, accommodation, supervision and meals for the duration of the camp. Places are strictly limited to 60 participants and the project fee must be paid in full upon enrolment to secure a placement at the camp.
MYM is now accepting enrolments. If you would like your child to attend Youth Sting Camp, please return the accompanying enrolment form to MYM as soon as possible (via fax, email, post or to your Ensemble Manager at the next rehearsal), complete with payment, to secure a place. Please also note that cancellation fees apply.
Enrolments are initially only open to current members of the 2012 Ensemble Program and numbers are strictly limited to 60 participants. Should vacancies exist by 7 August 2012, enrolments will be opened to non-2012 Ensemble Program members.
Payment in full will be required at the time of enrolment in order to secure a placement at the camp. Cancellation fees apply.
