DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT (DEECD)
Melbourne Youth Music receives funding from the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development as part of the Strategic Partnerships Program. Working in partnership with the DEECD, MYM plays an active role in conveying to the community the vital role played by providers of flexible learning options outside of the classroom.
Working within the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development’s framework, MYM provides flexible learning options beyond the classroom environment. Programs have been designed to reflect the priorities of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development including Student learning, Student engagement and wellbeing, Student pathways and transitions.
AUSTRALIA COUNCIL
The Australia Council for the Arts provides funding that contributes towards MYM’s ensemble program, focusing on the ongoing development of young musicians throughout their musical experience at MYM.
FREEMASONS VICTORIA
Freemasons Victoria is a presenting partner of MYM and assists us to continue providing opportunities for young musicians to experience high quality ensemble music-making and to help build their confidence both as performers and future leaders in the community. Freemasons Victoria and MYM both aim to encourage personal development and excellence, increase youth involvement and appreciation of the arts, encourage participation across all religious, ethnic, cultural, social and educational backgrounds and create public awareness of youth in a positive light.
NEWSBOYS FOUNDATION
The Newsboys Foundation funds MYM’s financial assistance program that enables students up to the age of 18, who are disadvantaged through financial hardship or who come from low socio-economic backgrounds with ability in music to attend the Summer School and Ensemble programs.
Newsboys Foundation is also the Project Partner of MYM's 2012 Youth String Camp.

THE KIMBERLY FOUNDATION and MISS BETTY AMSDEN OAM funded a special collaborative project in conjunction with the NEWBOYS FOUNDATION between Melbourne Youth Chamber Strings (MYCS) and Anti Racism Action Band (A.R.A.B) which took place at the Melbourne Recital Centre in 23 November 2011. The performance featured original music written especially for this project, where MYCS and A.R.A.B shared the stage together, combining both contemporary hip-hop and classical music genres.
VIZARD FOUNDATION
Since 2006, The Vizard Foundation has generously supported an ongoing scholarship program, The Vizard Tertiary Allowance for self-supporting tertiary students who enrol in an MYM ensemble, subsidising their annual membership fees, thus being able to provide opportunities for young people to participate in programs that may not otherwise be available to them.
