Invergowrie Foundation Scholarships
Melbourne Youth Music has teamed up with the Invergowrie Foundation to make achieving musical dreams a reality for girls who live on the edge of Melbourne or beyond.
Thanks to a generous donation from the Invergowrie Foundation, a charitable trust designed to advance the education of girls and women in Victoria, Melbourne Youth Music is calling for applications from musically talented girls and young women aged 7 – 25 years who would like to be part of the acclaimed Melbourne Youth Music programme.
The scholarships are open to girls who play orchestral stringed instruments, bassoon, horn or a low brass instrument. Successful scholarship winners will receive free tuition in a 32-week program of regular rehearsals and tutorials, specialist workshops and take part in public performances
Scholarship winners will also receive an individual lesson from a female member of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, as a way of mentoring these students and showing them the possibilities of a future in music.
