Saturday Music Application Form
Bruce Worland AM Music Scholarship

Planned on a progressive structure which allows members to develop at their own pace from beginner to advanced through ten ensembles, participants are able to develop individual and group skills, as well as valuable social skills alongside other young musicians of similar age and interest.

Weekly Rehearsals
From early February until December, weekly rehearsals allow members to improve their ensemble playing, aural and music reading skills and practice techniques, along with an expansion of their general musical knowledge.

Tutorials
During the term, ensembles receive sectional tutorials as required from experienced tutors to assist with technical and musical skill development.

Performance Program
MYM ensembles perform internationally, interstate and intrastate as well as in major Melbourne and suburban venues.

Varied Repertoire
It is MYM policy for the conductors to choose relevant and varied repertoire that is suitable for their ensemble.
In many instances MYM moves beyond traditional educational repertoire to provide members with a broad musical experience. MYM also encourages the performance of works by Australian composers.
